Love doing self portraits. It keeps me creative and in touch with my clients (being in front of the camera – not the easiest thing for a photographer). Trying for a Twilight/New Moon look – what do ya think? My fabulous photographer friend Amanda Olson helped me with these.

Recently photographed the head shots for one of our own North Carolina celebrities – Tanya Senseney, the Coupon Queeny. When she’s not busy touring the country lecturing or being featured on various TV programs, Tanya resides in Raleigh. Check out her site a see what she’s all about!

August. Hot. Weather. I am a wedding photographer and if the wedding is outdoors and it’s hot, well, too bad. I’ll just wipe the sweat off my viewfinder and keep on truckin. Making it even easier was the fact that Avery and I have known each other since high school (yes, Apex High class of ’95). How cool is that?! Funny the way our memories of people stay the same over time – Avery will always be 18 and wearing flannel in my mind. Even though it was 99 degrees, the Arboretum in Raleigh made a gorgeous setting for Avery and Andrew’s wedding. They kept it small and simple, and after the ceremony proceeded to a reception at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cary.

Lovely ceremony and reception for Dana and Brian at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill. Officiated by none other than the groom’s father (no pressure, right?
. Dana and Brian have already been blessed with two children, so there was calm and ease about their day. Almost easier to focus on love and family, since they’ve been there for some time. There was much eating, drinking, dancing and fun. As it should be!
